80% of information children receive is visual. Make sure they don't fall behind with regular eye tests.

Do carrots improve your vision?   

Early indicators of children's visual issues include:

  • Frequent blinking or eye rubbing

  • Watery or red eyes

  • Sensitivity to light

  • Complains of headaches, blurred or double vision

  • One eye turns in or out

  • Poor concentration

  • Squinting when watching TV

  • Holds book very closely

  • Misses or confuses words when reading

  • Covers or closes one eye

  • Unusual head position

Myopia in children

Myopia is also know as short sightedness and can be corrected with glasses or contact lenses. iPads, mobile phones and computers are known to contribute to the onset of myopia .There are a few simple things that can be done to counteract this:

  • Outdoor play everyday

  • When working on a screen every 20 minutes look at something 20 metres away for 20 seconds

  • Place desk near a window
